That combination keeps demand steady on the used market, and the modern classics generally hold value better than the more focused machines in the range. The Street Twin and Scrambler in particular move quickly when they come up in clean, standard condition.
What to look at
Check the service history properly. These engines are reliable when maintained on schedule, and the interval is long enough that owners occasionally treat it as optional. Look for evidence that the valve service was done when it was due. On the twins, check for oil weeps and listen to the cam chain tensioner on a genuinely cold start, which is one of the reasons we insist a bike is cold when a buyer arrives. On any Scrambler, look at the underside and the exhaust routing for evidence of the off-road use the styling invites and the machine does not always thank you for.
Modifications
Triumph owners modify heavily — bar-end mirrors, exhausts, seats, luggage. Quality accessories, particularly genuine ones, are broadly value-neutral and sometimes help. Where it goes wrong is fuelling: an aftermarket exhaust fitted without recalibration leaves the bike running poorly, and it is one of the most common faults we find on otherwise clean examples. Ask what was done about mapping when the exhaust went on, and treat a blank look as an answer.

Service costs sit above the Japanese equivalents and below the premium European marques, which is worth building into your budget before you buy rather than discovering at the first major service.
