The value case
Suzuki tends to be overlooked next to Kawasaki and the European marques, and that shows up in used pricing. The machines are mechanically conservative in the best sense, and the ones we see come through in good order more often than not. If you are buying on value rather than badge, this is usually where the strongest case sits — you are paying less for a comparable machine largely because fewer people thought to look.
What to check
The GSX-S and V-Strom families are durable and the common faults are the ordinary ones — chain and sprocket wear, brake fluid left too long, tyres aged out rather than worn out on lower-mileage examples. On the Hayabusa, check the service history closely and ask what has been done about the clutch and the chain, both of which take real punishment if the bike has been ridden the way a Hayabusa invites. On any of them, look for evidence of regular use rather than long storage; these engines prefer being ridden.
Resale reality
The flip side of buying well is that Suzuki does not appreciate the way some marques do, so a used Suzuki is a machine to buy and ride rather than to trade in eighteen months. If you want the strongest possible resale, a Kawasaki of equivalent capacity will usually do better. If you want the most machine for the money now, Suzuki is frequently the answer, and that trade is worth making consciously rather than by accident.
Parts and support
Availability in Delhi is solid for the current and recent range, and generally better than for the low-volume European marques. Older or grey-market machines are a different proposition and worth checking on before committing, because a rare part on an out-of-support model is where an inexpensive bike becomes an expensive one.
